Two Women Scholars Appointed to New Positions as Deans

johnsonthorntonRenee Johnson-Thornton is the new dean of the Class of 2018 at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. She has been serving as dean of equity and inclusion at the university. Dr. Johnson Thornton joined the staff at the university in 1998 as the associate director of the Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program.

Dr. Johnson-Thornton is a native of Jamaica. She is a graduate of Binghamton University of the State University of New York System and holds a master’s degree from Wesleyan University and a Ph.D. from the University of Rhode Island.

RahschulteRebecca Rahschulte was named dean of the university and transfer division at the Lawrenceburg, Indiana, campus of Ivy Tech Community College. She has been serving as interim dean and chair of the social/behavioral sciences and humanities program. Dr. Rahschulte has been an associate professor of psychology at Ivy Tech since 2009.

Dr. Rahschulte is a graduate of the University of Georgia. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in school psychology from the University of Cincinnati.
