Four Women Who Are Stepping Down From Their Posts in Higher Education

patneauDoris K. Patneau has retired from her position as an assistant professor of anatomy and cell biology in the Center for Health Sciences at Oklahoma State University. She joined the faculty at Oklahoma State in 2001 after teaching for seven years in the department of neurobiology, pharmacology, and physiology at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Patneau holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in experimental psychology, all from the University of Arkansas. She conducted postdoctoral research in the Laboratory of Developmental Neurobiology at the National Institutes of Health.

kennedyDygasPeg Kennedy-Dygas has stepped down as dean of the College of Fine Arts at Ohio University in Athens. She will take a semester off and return to the university in the fall of 2016 as a professor of music. She has served as dean since 2013.

Dr. Kennedy-Dygas earned a bachelor’s degree in music from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a doctorate in voice and music history and literature from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.

Hennig-Linda Hennig has retired from the faculty of the College of Nursing at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She has served on the staff of the university for 26 years. From 2007 to 2013, Dr, Hennig was the founding associate dean of undergraduate affairs at the nursing school.

Dr. Hennig is a graduate of the University of Florida. She holds a master’s degree in rehabilitation nursing from New York University and an educational doctorate from the University of Central Florida.

MorrisonJoan Morrison, assistant director of the Office of Alumni Relations at North Carolina Central University in Durham, is retiring from her post. She joined the staff at the university in 1978 with a post in the Office of Research, Evaluation, and Planning.

Morrison is a graduate of North Carolina Central University.
