The Next President of Emporia State University in Kansas

allison-garrettThe Kansas Board of Regents has selected Allison Garrett as the 17th president of Emporia State University. She will take office in January. The university enrolls about 4,000 undergraduate students and 2,200 graduate students. Women are 60 percent of the undergraduate student body.

For the past three years, Garrett has served as executive vice president at Abilene Christian University in Texas. Earlier she served as senior vice president for academic affairs, general counsel, vice president of benefits and compliance, associate professor of law and in other posts at Abilene Christian.

Garrett is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, where she majored in English. She is also a graduate of the College of Law at the University of Tulsa.
