Nine Women Join the Faculty at Rider University in New Jersey

Rider2Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, has announced that there are 14 new faculty members on campus this fall. Nine of the new appointees are women.

delisioLauren Delisio is a new assistant professor of teacher education. She was a graduate research associate at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Delisio is a graduate of Rider University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. She earned a master’s degree in elementary education at Pace University in New York and a doctorate in education from the University of Central Florida.

Susan M. Dougherty was named an assistant professor of teacher education. She has 10 years of experience as a public school teacher. Dr. Dougherty is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University. She holds a master’s degree in reading education from Rutgers University in New Jersey and a doctorate in education from Boston University.

mehsiehMeng-Chen Hsieh is an assistant professor in the department of information systems and supply chain management.  She was a senior statistician for the Affirnion Group in Stamford, Connecticut. Dr. Hsieh holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the National Chengcho University in Taiwan and a Ph.D. in statistics from New York University.

Shahla Hussain is a new assistant professor of history. Her research is focused on modern-day Kashmir. Dr. Hussain holds a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in medieval Indian history from Jamia Millian University in New Delhi, India. She earned a Ph.D. in history from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts.

jludwigJamie Rogers Ludwig is an assistant professor in the department of chemistry, biochemistry, and physics. Previously, she taught at Elon University in North Carolina and did postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Ludwig is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University and holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin.

amishraAnubha Mishra was named an assistant professor in the department of marketing, advertising, and legal studies. She was an assistant professor in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Idaho. Dr. Mishra is a graduate of the Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce in India. She earned an MBA at Pune University in India and a Ph.D. in retailing and consumer sciences at the University of Arizona.

Olivia K. Newman is a new assistant professor in the department of political science at Rider University. She is a graduate of Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. Dr. Newman holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the New School in New York City.

nolfiTricia Nolfi was appointed an assistant professor in the department of graduate education, leadership, and counseling. She has held faculty and administrative posts at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Dr. Nolfi holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ohio University in Athens and an educational doctorate from the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University.

SerpicoJoan M. Serpico is a new assistant professor and librarian at the Moore Library at Rider. She has previously held posts at Rutgers University and the University of Maryland. Serpico is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where she majored in English. She holds a master’s degree from Trinity College and a master of library and information science degree from the University of Maryland.
