Penn State Professor Wins Book Award From the Poe Studies Association

Barbara_CantalupoBarbara Cantalupo, a professor of English at the Pennsylvania State University Lehigh Valley campus in Center Valley, has been selected to receive the Patrick F. Quinn Award from the Poe Studies Association. Professor Cantalupo will receive the award at the Modern Language Association convention in Austin, Texas, this coming January.

Professor Cantalupo is being honored for her book Poe and the Visual Arts (Pennsylvania State University Press, 2014). She is only the fifth winner of the award which was established in 1999. The Poe Studies Association was established in 1972 and has more than 300 members worldwide.

Professor Cantalupo is the founding editor of The Edgar Allan Poe Review. She is a graduate of the University of Rochester, where she double majored in English and history. Dr. Cantalupo holds a master of social work degree, a master’s degree in photography and English, and a Ph.D. in English, all from the University at Buffalo of the State University of New York System.
