Terri Camesano Honored at the Third International Conference on Prevention and Infection Control in Geneva

camesano-formalTerri Camesano, a professor of chemical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, received the First Place Award at the Third International Conference on Prevention and Infection Control in Geneva, Switzerland. Professor Camesano was honored for her ongoing research into the use of antimicrobial peptides to prevent catheter-related infections. The First Place Award came with a $10,000 prize.

Professor Camesano joined the faculty at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2000. She was promoted to full professor in 2010. Dr. Camesano served as assistant dean of engineering and in 2014 was appointed dean of graduate studies.

Professor Camesano is a graduate of the University of Rochester, where she double majored in environmental science and chemical engineering. She earned a master’s degree at the University of Arizona and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
