Grants or Gifts Relating to Women in Higher Education

money_bagHere is this week’s news of grants and gifts that may be of particular interest to women in higher education.

Saint Louis University in Missouri received a grant from Partnerships to Advance Quality Services for a program to promote maternal mental health in St. Louis. The grant program will focus on research methods to measure service and referral characteristics for postpartum depression.

Petersen, Sandra_5The University of Massachusetts received a $50,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to develop a mentoring network for minority women faculty in STEM fields at 20 colleges and universities in the northeastern United States. The project is under the direction of Sandra Petersen, a professor of veterinary and animal sciences at the university.

The state of Michigan has set aside $500,000 in grants for innovative programs to reduce sexual assaults on college campuses. The Campus Sexual Assault Grant Program, administered by the Michigan State Police is open to both public and private colleges and universities in the state. More information is available here.
