Promotions for Five Women Faculty Members at California Lutheran University

calLutheran_bg2California Lutheran University in Thousands Oaks recently announced the promotions of nine faculty members. Five of the promotions went to women.

wiggintonSheridan Wigginton was promoted to full professor of Spanish and granted tenure. She joined the faculty at the university in 2011 as chair of the department of languages and cultures. She is president of the Afro/Latin-American Research Association. Professor Wigginton is a magna cum laude graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in foreign language curriculum and instruction from the University of Missouri.

sellinChristine Sellin, chair of the department of art, was promoted to full professor of art history. She is past president of the American Association for Netherlandic Studies. Professor Sellin is the author of Fractured Families and Rebel Maidservants: The Biblical Hagar in Seventeenth Century Dutch Art and Literature (T. & T. Clark Publishers, 2006). Dr. Sellin is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in art history from the University of California, Los Angeles.

kelleyLouise Kelly was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of exercise science. Dr. Kelly also serves as the director of the Center for Academic Service Learning at the university. She joined the faculty at California Lutheran in 2008. Dr. Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. in pediatric exercise science from the University of Glasgow in Scotland.

lorimerMaureen Lorimer was named associate professor in the Graduate School of Education. She was also granted tenure. Dr. Lorimer is chair of the school’s department of learning and teaching. A member of the faculty since 2009, Dr. Lorimer holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California. She earned a Ph.D. in education at the Claremont Graduate University.

sandlinJean Sandlin was promoted to associate professor in the department of communication. She joined the faculty at the university in 2007 after a 20-year career in advertising, public relations, and journalism. Dr. Sandlin holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a Ph.D., all from California Lutheran University.
