Mary Ann Johnson of the University of Georgia to Lead the American Society for Nutrition

Mary-Ann-JohnsonMary Ann Johnson, the Bill and June Flatt Professor in Foods and Nutrition in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Georgia, has been selected to lead the American Society for Nutrition. The society has more than 5,000 members including the top researchers, scientists, and clinical nutritionists in the discipline.

Professor Johnson will serve as vice president-elect for one year and vice president for one year before becoming president of the society in 2017.  She will then spend a one-year term as past-president.

Dr. Johnson has been on the faculty at the University of Georgia since 1983. She was promoted to full professor in 1995. Professor Johnson is a graduate of University of Northern Iowa, where she majored in chemistry. She holds a Ph.D. in nutritional sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
