In Memoriam: Jane Farver, 1947-2015

jane-farverJane Farver, the former director of the List Visual Arts Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, died after suffering a heart attack on April 29 while working in Venice, Italy. She was 68 years old.

Farver served on the staff at MIT from 1999 to 2011. Since that time she worked as an independent curator and was employed as a consultant for the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. She also was an adjunct professor at Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning.

Earlier in her career, Farver was director of exhibitions at the Queens Museum in New York and director of the Lehman College Art Gallery of the City University of New York.
