Five Women Promoted to Full Professor at Georgia College and State University

georgia-college-and-state-universityGeorgia College and State University, located southeast of Atlanta in Milledgeville, enrolls about 5,700 undergraduates and 800 graduate students. Women make up 60 percent of the undergraduate student body. The educational institution has announced the promotion of nine faculty members to the rank of full professor. Five of the nine promotions went to women.

beauty.braggBeauty Bragg was promoted to full professor of English. Professor Bragg is the author of Reading Contemporary African American Literature: Black Women’s Popular Fiction, Post-Civil Rights Experience, and the African American Canon (Lexington Books, 2014).

JenniferfloryjpgJennifer Flory was named a full professor of music. She is a graduate of Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. Professor Flory holds a master’s degree and doctor of musical arts degree from the University of Cincinnati.

liuCathy Liu was promoted to full professor of computer science in the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business. Professor Liu is a graduate of the National University of Defense Technology in China. She earned a master’s degree at Beijing University and a Ph.D. in computer science from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

mcclurertStephanie McClure is a new full professor of sociology. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri and holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia.

samsDee Sams was promoted to full professor in the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in marketing from the University of South Florida.
