Two University Presidents Announce They Are Leaving Their Posts

Penelopkylee Ward Kyle, president of Radford University in Virginia, announced that she will step down at the end of the 2015-16 academic year. In 2005, she was named the sixth president and the first woman president of Radford University. In 2011, she was named president of the Big South Athletic Conference, the first woman to hold the position.

President Kyle is a graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. She holds an MBA from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and a juris doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law.

pres-martinSusan Martin will leave her post as president of Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti on July 7, 2015. She will take a one-year sabbatical and then return to the university as a professor in the College of Business at the university. Dr. Martin was named the 22nd president and the first woman president of Eastern Michigan University in 2008. Earlier, she was provost and vice chancellor of the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

Dr. Martin is a graduate of Central Michigan University and holds an MBA and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
