Quinnipiac University Historian Is a Finalist for Dean of the Honors College at West Virginia University

West Virginia University has announced three finalists for the position of dean of the Honors College at the university. All three candidates will spend two days and one night on campus meeting with the administration, faculty, staff, and students. One of the three finalists is a woman.

CookeKathy J. Cooke is a professor of history and the founding director of the honors program at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. The focus of her research is the history of eugenics and race betterment movements in the United States in the early 20th century.

Professor Cooke is a graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
