Lydia Tena Is a Candidate for President of the Alamogordo Campus of New Mexico State University

New Mexico State University has announced a field of three candidates for president of the Alamogordo campus. The Alamogordo campus, in the south-central part of the state, enrolls about 2,500 undergraduate students. Women make up 62 percent of the student body.

All three candidates will visit the Alamogordo campus by the first of May for a series of interviews and public forums. One of the three candidates is a woman.

tenaLydia Tena is dean of the Northwest Campus and dean of instructional programs at El Paso Community College in Texas. Dr. Tena holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an MBA from the University of Texas at El Paso. She earned a doctorate in educational management and development in higher education administration from New Mexico State University.
