Three Women’s Colleges Among the Top Producers of Peace Corps Volunteers

peace-corpsThe Peace Corps has announced its annual listing of the colleges and universities that have the most alumni servings as volunteers in its ranks. The University of Washington held the top spot this year with 72 graduates working in the Peace Corps. The University of Wisconsin and the University of Florida were ranked second and third, respectively.

In the Small Colleges and Universities category, for schools with less than 5,000 undergraduates, three women’s colleges made the list of the top producers of Peace Corps volunteers. The College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota, Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts and Barnard College in New York City all tied for 20th place for small colleges with the most graduates serving in the Peace Corps.
