Kathy Burkowski Is One of Two Finalists for Director of the University of Wisconsin Press

Borkowski_croppedThe vice chancellor for research and graduate education at the University of Wisconsin has announced two finalists to be director of the University of Wisconsin Press. Both candidates recently visited campus to give a presentation on their experiences in publishing and their vision for the future of the University of Wisconsin Press. One of the two finalists is a woman.

Kathy Borkowski currently serves as director of the Wisconsin Historical Society Press. She has held that post since 2004. Borkowski’s parents died when she was a teenager and she was left with the responsibility of raising three siblings. As a result, she did not enter college until she was 30 years old. She went on to earn a master of library science degree and a master’s degree in history from the University of Wisconsin.
