In Memoriam: Jane Ellen Raley, 1957-2014

Jane-Raley-Horizontal-ShortJane E. Raley, a clinical professor of law and the co-director of the Center on Wrongful Convictions at the Northwestern University School of Law, died late last month at her home in Highland Park, Illinois. She was 57 years old and had been suffering from cancer.

Professor Raley joined the faculty at Northwestern University in 2000 after a long career as a public defender. She specialized in helping prison inmates who believed they had been wrongfully accused and successfully overturned the convictions of  many inmates.

Professor Raley was a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington and the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University.
