Four Women Appointed to Dean Positions

cwaltersCarolyn Walters was named the Ruth Lilly Dean of University Libraries at Indiana University in Bloomington. Since 2005, she has been the executive associate dean of university libraries. In 2012, Walters was named the executive director of the Office of Scholarly Publishing. She has been on the library staff at the university since 1987.

Walters is a graduate of Miami University in Ohio.

ctoderoCatherine M. Todero was named dean of the College of Nursing at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She has been serving as associate dean and director of the school of nursing at Azuza Pacific University in San Diego, California. She will take on her new role at Creighton beginning on July 1.

Dr. Todero is a graduate of Creighton University. She holds master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Nebraska.

denzineGypsy Denzine was named dean of the College of Education and Human Services at West Virginia University. Dr. Denzine has been serving as associate provost for community engagement and outreach at the university. Before coming to West Virginia University in 2013, Dr. Denzine was the assistant vice provost of the professional education unit at Northern Arizona University.

Dr. Denzine is a graduate of St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Ph.D. in educational psychology from the University of Northern Colorado.

FONTENOT-NEWSGwen Fontenot was appointed interim dean of the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. From 2006 to 2103, Dr. Fontenot was chair of the university’s department of marketing and hospitality.

Dr. Fontenot holds a Ph.D. in marketing from the University of North Texas.
