Yale Scholar Honored by the Vergilian Society

peiranoGarrisonBookIrene Peirano Garrison, associate professor of the Classics at Yale University, has received the 2015 Alexander G. McKay Prize for Vergilian Studies from the Vergilian Society. The prize is awarded to the author of the “book that, in the opinion of the prize evaluation committee, that makes the greatest contribution toward our understanding and appreciation of Vergil.”

Dr. Garrison was honored for her book The Rhetoric of the Roman Fake: Latin Pseudepigrapha in Context (Cambridge University Press, 2012).

Dr. Garrison is a graduate of Oriel College at the University of Oxford. She earned a Ph.D. in classical philology at Harvard University.
