Five Women in New Faculty Roles at U.S. Universities

Denise W Streeter, PhDDenise W. Streeter was named an instructor in business at the York campus of Pennsylvania State University. She recently defended her doctoral dissertation at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

Dr. Streeter is a magna cum laude graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. She holds a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University.

santosEunice Santos was named professor and chair of the department of computer science at the Illinois Institute of Technology. She has been serving as professor and chair of the department of computer science at the University of Texas at El Paso. Earlier in her career, she taught at Virginia Tech and Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Santos holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley.

MarkovaTsveti Markova is the new chair of the department of family medicine and public health sciences at Wayne State University in Detroit. She is the associate dean of graduate medical education at the university.

Dr. Markova joined the faculty at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1997. She earned her medical degree at the University of Varna in Bulgaria.

AnnaTaylorAnna Taylor has joined the faculty at the Carrington Research Extension Center of North Dakota State University. Her research is focused on animal nutrition and feedlot management. She has been serving as postdoctoral research fellow at South Dakota State University.

Dr. Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in animal science, a master’s degree in reproductive physiology, and a Ph.D. in ruminant nutrition and meat science, all from South Dakota State University.

MERRYMAN_Bethweb.jpgBeth Merryman was named chair of the department of occupational therapy and occupational science at Towson University in Maryland. She has been serving as interim chair since January 2014. Dr. Merryman was promoted to full professor in 2012 and serves as director of the doctoral program in occupational science.

Professor Merryman is a graduate of Ohio State University. She holds a master’s degree from Towson University and a Ph.D. in policy studies from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
