Two Women Named to Dean Posts

barbara-knuthBarbara Knuth was appointed to a new term as dean of the Graduate School at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Dr. Knuth, who also serves as vice provost, will become chair of the Council of Graduate Schools in December. She joined the Cornell University faculty in 1986.

Dr. Knuth holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Miami University. She earned a Ph.D. in fisheries and wildlife sciences from Virginia Tech.

krauss-hsMarty Krauss was named interim dean of the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Dr. Krauss is a professor emerita at the Heller School and is an expert on intellectual disabilities. She served as provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Brandeis from 2003 to 2011. She joined the faculty at Brandeis in 1984.

Dr. Krauss is a graduate of the University of Michigan and earned a Ph.D. at Brandeis University.
