In Memoriam: Doris Thibault, 1925-2014

Doris Thibault, a professor emerita of education at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, died at her home in New Bedford, Massachusetts on September 20. She was 89 years old.

A native of New Bedford and a former Sister of St. Joseph, Dr. Thibault taught in the Catholic schools in Fall River, Massachusetts. She joined the faculty at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth in 1968 and taught there for 22 years. She was also served as director of the Student-Teacher Certification Program.

Dr. Thibault was a graduate of Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire. She earned a master’s degree at Boston College and a Ph.D. at Boston University.
