One Woman Among Three Finalists for Director of the West Virginia University Press

JoyceHarrisonWest Virginia University has selected three finalists for the position of director of the West Virginia University Press. All three candidates will be on campus next week for interviews and public forums. One of the three finalists is a woman.

Joyce Harrison is the acquiring editor at Kent State University Press in Ohio. She has held that position since 2008. From 2003 to 2008, Dr. Harrison was editor-in-chief of the University Press of Kentucky. Earlier, she held acquisition editor positions for academic presses at the University of Tennessee, the University of South Carolina, and the University of Michigan.

Dr. Harrison is a graduate of Towson University in Maryland, where she majored in music. She holds a master’s degree from the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester and a Ph.D. in music history and theory from the University of Chicago.
