Professor Jean-Venable Goode Will Be the Next President of the American Pharmacists Association

goodeJean-Venable R. Goode has been named president-elect of the American Pharmacists Association. She will become president of the national organization in March 2016.

The American Pharmacists Association was founded in 1852 and represents more than 62,000 practicing pharmacists, scientists, and educators. It is the oldest and largest pharmacy organization in the nation.

Dr. Goode is a professor in the School of Pharmacy at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She has been on the faculty at the university since 1996. For nine years she has been the director of the school’s Community Pharmacy Practice Program and has led the Community Pharmacy Residency Program for 11 years.

Dr. Goode earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Virginia Tech. She earned a second bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and a doctorate in pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University.
