University of Virginia’s Pamela Cipriano to Lead the American Nurses Association

PamelaPamela-Cipriano Cipriano, associate research professor at the University of Virginia School of Nursing, was elected president of the American Nurses Association, the professional organization that represents the interests of the nation’s 3.1 million registered nurses.

“This is the most impressive honor in my entire career,” Dr. Cipriano said in accepting her post at the association’s annual assembly. “I look forward to working with you to serve nurses, improve the safety and quality of care for our patients and continue to transform our nation’s health.”

Dr. Cipriano holds a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Washington and a doctorate from the University of Utah.
