In Memoriam: Donna Roudabush Sterling, 1949-2014

DonnaSterlingDonna R. Sterling, a Distinguished Service Professor and professor of science education at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, died on June 24 at her home in McLean, Virginia. She was 65 years old and had suffered from pancreatic cancer.

Professor Sterling joined the faculty at George Mason University in 1993. She served as director of the Center for Restructuring Education in Science and Technology and was the principal investigator for the Virginia Initiative for Science Teaching and Achievement, a $28.5 million grant program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. It was the largest grant ever received by George Mason University.

Dr. Sterling earned an educational doctorate from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
