Two Women Are Candidates for Vice Provost at the University of Wisconsin

Wisconsin LogoThe University of Wisconsin-Madison has announced three finalists for the position of vice provost for faculty and staff. The candidates, all of whom currently serve on the University of Wisconsin faculty, will participate in public forums that will conclude on June 2. Two of the three finalists are women.

Ruth Litovsky is a professor of communication sciences and disorders. Professor Litovsky joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin in 2001. She was promoted to associate professor in 2006 and to full professor in 2010. Dr. Litovsky holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Washington University in St. Louis. She earned a Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the University of Massachusetts.

Judith Burstyn is a professor of chemistry and pharmacology. Her research focuses on gas-sensing metalloproteins, specifically how the interaction of a gas molecule with a metal center alters protein structure and function. Professor Burstyn is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She earned a Ph.D. at the University of California, Los Angeles.
