Two Architecture Professors Win Environmental Design Research Awards

ublogo2Two faculty members at the University at Buffalo of the State University of New York system have been honored with the 2014 Career Award from the Environmental Design Research Association.

Lynda Schneekloth is a professor emerita of architecture at the university. She joined the university’s faculty in 1982. Professor Schneekloth is a co-founder of the Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper, a nonprofit organization devoted to repairing and protecting local waterways. She is the author, co-author, or editor of six books including Ordering Space: Types in Architecture and Design (Van Nostrand Reinhold, 1994) and Placemaking: The Art and Practice of Building Communities (John Wiley & Sons, 1995).

Sue Weidemann is a visiting professor of architecture at the university. She is the president of the Buffalo Organization for Social and Technical Innovation and began teaching at the university in 2011. She is a former professor of landscape architecture and housing research and development at the University of Illinois. Dr. Weidemann holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, all from the University of Illinois.
