Joan Maze of Towson University Is a Finalist for Director of the Multicultural Center at the University of Wisconsin

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has named three finalists for the post of assistant dean of students and director of the Multicultural Student Center. All three candidates have visited campuses in recent days and participated in interviews and public forums. One of the three finalists is a woman.

jmazeJoan Maze is director of African American student development at Towson University in Maryland. She has held this post since 2009. Previously, she was the assistant director for multicultural and leadership programs in the Office of Student Activities at Western Illinois University in Macomb. Earlier in her career, Maze held administrative posts at Maryville University in St. Louis, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Maze is a graduate of Xavier University in New Orleans, where she majored in philosophy. She holds a master’s degree in African American studies from Temple University in Philadelphia.
