Five Women Taking on New University Administrative Roles

Pascha Gerni was promoted to director of finance at the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute. For the past three years, she has served as associate director of finance. Earlier, she spent seven years in the controller’s office at the University of New Hampshire.

Gerni is a graduate of Virginia Tech.

wold-mccormick_kristiKristi Wold-McCormick was appointed registrar at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She was registrar at North Dakota State University.

Dr. Wold-McCormick holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from North Dakota State University and earned an educational doctorate at the University of North Dakota.

tonia-walker-adTonia Walker was promoted to director of athletics at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina. She was the associate director of athletics and has served as interim director since March 1. She joined the athletics staff at the university in 2000.

Walker is a graduate of Hampton University in Virginia, where she played both varsity basketball and softball. She earned a master’s degree at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

judy-RyanJudy Ryan is the new vice president for administration and finance at the University of Maine. Since 2012, she has served as vice president for human resources and administration at the university.

Earlier in her career, Ryan held several administrative posts at the University of Southern Maine and was chief of staff to the chancellor of the University of Maine system.

nedra brownNedra Brown was named associate athletics director for internal operations and senior woman administrator at Jackson State University in Mississippi. She is the former acting athletics director and head volleyball coach at Alabama A&M University.

Brown is a graduate of LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, Tennessee.
