Yale’s Jane Greenwood to Receive Lifetime Tony Award

j_greenwoodJane Greenwood has served as a professor of design at the Yale School of Drama since 1976. She has also been the costume designer for more than 125 Broadway shows since 1963. She has been nominated for a Tony Award 17 times but never received the award.

That will change on June 8, when Professor Greenwood will receive the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award in Theater from the American Theatre Wing at this year’s Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

In addition to her work on Broadway, Professor Greenwood, a native of Liverpool, England, has also designed costumes for operas, Off-Broadway plays, dance programs, television, and films.
