Two Women Promoted and Granted Tenure at the College of the Holy Cross

college-of-the-holy-crossThe College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, has announced the promotion of five faculty members to the rank of associate professor. All five of the faculty members were also granted tenure. Two of the promotions and tenure awards went to women.

Beard_smRenee Lynn Bard was promoted to associate professor of sociology and anthropology. She joined the faculty at the College of the Holy Cross in 2008 after serving as a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Illinois. She is an expert on Alzheimer’s disease and the sociology of health and aging. Dr. Bard is a graduate of Boston College, where she majored in sociology. She earned a Ph.D. in medical sociology from the University of California at San Francisco.

craig-BBarbara L. Craig was appointed associate professor of theatre and granted tenure. She joined the faculty at the College of Holy Cross in 2007. Earlier she spent six years as the properties director for the Denver Center Theatre Company. She specializes in set design, lighting, and costume design. Craig is a graduate of Barnard College in New York City. She earned a master of fine arts degree in design and technical theatre from the University of Minnesota.
