Colby College Promotes and Awards Tenure to Two Women Faculty Members

Colby_sealColby College, the highly ranked liberal arts educational institution in Waterville, Maine, has announced that it has awarded tenure to four faculty members. All four faculty members were also promoted to associate professor. Two of the four new associate professors are women.

ValerieDionneValerie Dionne was promoted to associate professor of French and Italian. An expert in early modern French literature, she joined the Colby College faculty in 2007. Dr. Dionne is a native of Montreal, Canada, and earned a bachelor’s degree in classics and history at the University of Montreal. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in French literature from Princeton University.

GlennMelissa Glenn was named an associate professor of psychology. She also joined the college’s faculty in 2007. A behavioral neuroscientist, her research focuses on prenatal nutrition. Dr. Glenn earned a bachelor’s degree at Memorial University in Newfoundland. She holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in experimental psychology from Concordia University in Montreal.
