A Trio of New Deans

haynieStacia Haynie was appointed dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Her appointment is effective July 1. Dr. Haynie is the J.W. Annison Jr. Family Alumni Professor in the department of political science. She is the former associate dean of the university’s Graduate School and former vice provost for academic affairs.

Dr. Haynie holds a bachelor’s degree in theater and a master’s degree in political science from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. She earned a Ph.D. in political science at the University of North Texas.

heath_janieJanie Heath was named the next dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Kentucky. She will begin her new role on August 1. Currently, she is the associate dean of academic programs and the Thomas Saunders III Endowed Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Heath earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Ph.D. in nursing from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

Nancy-StaudtNancy Staudt was appointed dean of the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, effective May 15. Currently, she is vice dean for faculty and academic affairs at the Gould School of Law of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. At Washington University, she will also hold the title of the Howard and Caroline Cayne Professor of Law.

Professor Staudt is a graduate of Ohio State University and the University of Minnesota School of Law. She holds a doctorate in public policy from the University of Chicago.
