Virginia Tech Professor Wins Book Award

Arditti, professor of human development at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, has been selected to receive the 2014 Outstanding Book Award from the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. She will receive the award at the academy’s annual meeting this month.

Professor Arditti is being honored for her book Parental Incarceration and the Family: Psychological and Social Effects of Imprisonment on Children (New York University Press). She served for five years as the editor of Family Relations: Interdisciplinary Journal of Applied Family Studies.

Dr. Arditti is a graduate of the University of Georgia. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
