University of Michigan’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center Adds Online Chat Service

University_of_Michigan-Ann_ArborThe Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center at the University of Michigan has added Advocate Chat to its group of services. In addition to its crisis hotline, one-on-one counseling, and peer-led support groups, students, faculty and staff at the university can now engage in an online chat with trained support personnel. As a result, individuals can obtain information, counseling, and emotional support in a secure anonymous environment.

The chat service is only offered during the hours of 9am to 5pm on weekdays, whereas the group’s crisis hotline is available around the clock.
