Kimberly Wright Cassidy Named the Ninth President of Bryn Mawr College

cassidyKimberly Wright Cassidy was named the ninth president of Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, one of the most prestigious women’s colleges in the nation. Dr. Cassidy has been on the college’s faculty since 1993. She has been provost at the college since 2007. From 2004 to 2007, she was chair of the department of psychology. Professor Cassidy has served as interim president since July 1.

Dr. Cassidy said, “We are at an exciting and pivotal time for Bryn Mawr and I couldn’t be more thrilled to play a part in the College’s bright future. Over my more than 20 years as part of this community, I’ve come to respect and love Bryn Mawr and the values the College has stood for throughout its long and rich history. We will continue to instill in our students intellectual curiosity and independent thinking through a creative and rigorous curriculum that promotes intellectual and personal growth. Bryn Mawr has built an incredible foundation, a clear mission and strong community and I am confident Bryn Mawr will continue to be a vibrant and leading force in higher education.”

Dr. Cassidy is a graduate of Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
