Debbie Lea to Lead Delgado Community College

LeaDebbieThe board of supervisors of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System has named Debbie Lea as interim chancellor of Delgado Community College in New Orleans. The college enrolls more than 18,000 students and women make up two-thirds of the student body.

Lea has been serving as vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at the college. She is replacing Monty Sullivan who was appointed chancellor of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. Lea will serve as interim chancellor at least until the end of the current semester.

Lea is a graduate of Delgado Community College. She earned a bachelor’s degree at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and a master’s degree from the University of New Orleans.
