Virginia Tech’s Particia Dove Wins the Dana Medal from the Mineralogical Society of America

dove-patriciaPatricia Dove, the C.P. Miles Professor of Geoscience at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, recently was awarded the Dana Medal from the Mineralogical Society of America at the annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union.

The Dana Medal is awarded to scholars for “sustained scientific contributions through original research in the biogeochemistry of earth processes.”

Professor Dove earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Virginia Tech. She holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University. Dr. Dove joined the Virginia Tech faculty in 2000 and was inducted into the National Academy of Science in 2013.
