Long-Time Public Affairs Officer at the University of Missouri Is Stepping Down

Koukola-ChrisChris Koukola, assistant to the chancellor of university affairs at the University of Missouri in Columbia, has announced that she will step down at the end of January. She has led the university’s communication programs for more than a quarter century. Before coming to the University of Missouri in 1986, she was director of information services and publications at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

“The applause for Chris Koukola will resound throughout the University of Missouri in praise and appreciation of her 28 years of service and significant contributions to the University of Missouri, but no applause will be greater than my own,” said Brady Deaton, chancellor emeritus  of the University of Missouri, who served as chancellor from 2004 through 2013. “Since I began working with campus administration in 1989, Chris has been my wise counsel and provided me with her sound judgment in every aspect of public communication of the mission and matters critical to the university.”
