In Memoriam: Edith Dixon, 1951-2014

Edith-DixonEdith Dixon, a senior academic librarian with the technology group at Memorial Library on the campus of the University of Wisconsin at Madison, died when she was reportedly struck by a truck on a Madison street on January 16. She was 62 years old.

Dixon was a native of Morristown, New Jersey. She was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of George Washington University in the nation’s capital and earned a master of library science degree at the University of Maryland at College Park.

She began her career at the University of Wisconsin Libraries in 1987. Mitch Lundquist, manager of computer operations for the University of Wisconsin Madison Libraries, stated that Dixon “worked quietly to make sure everyone around her and our institution better. Her loss is our loss, and she won’t be forgotten.”
