Two Women Named Regents’ Professors at Arizona State University

asuArizona State University has announced that four members of its faculty have been honored with the designation as Regents’ Professors. The title of Regents’ Professor is the highest faculty honor at the university. Two of the four new Regents’ Professors are women.

AinsworthBarbara Ainsworth is a professor of exercise and wellness in the College of Health Solutions. She also serves as the associate director of the School of Nutrition and Health Promotion. Professor Ainsworth has published more than 200 articles in the world’s leading academic journals. Dr. Ainsworth is a graduate of Fresno State University in California. She earned a master’s degree, a master of public health degree, and a Ph.D. in exercise physiology from the University of Minnesota.

Chattopadhyay_Aditi-3129bAditii Chattopadyay is the Ira A. Fulton Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. She also serves as the director of the Adaptive, Intelligent Materials and Systems Center at the university. Dr. Chattopadyay is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
