Two Women Appointed to Endowed Chairs at Trinity College

trinityTrinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, has announced that two women faculty members have been appointed to endowed chairs.

EllisonFindlyEllison Banks Findly is the Scott M. Johnson ’97 Distinguished Professor of Religion. She has served on the Trinity faculty since 1980. Her research focuses on women in Indian religions.

Professor Findly is a graduate of Wellesley College in Massachusetts. She holds a master’s degree in the history of religions from Columbia University and a second master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Hinduism and Buddhism from Yale University.

SusanMasinoSusan Masino was named the Vernon Roosa Professor of Applied Science. She joined the psychology department faculty at Trinity College in 2003. Her research includes the study of the role and regulation of adenosine in the nervous system and clinical conditions such as epilepsy.

Professor Masino is a graduate of Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, where she majored in biospsychology. She holds a Ph.D. in biology from the University of California, Irvine.
