The First Woman Regents Professor at Montana State University

She will be the first woman to hold the title as Regents Professor and the first faculty member in the Montana State University’s College of Engineering to be so honored.

A native of Wisconsin, Dr. Camper moved to Montana when she was 8 years old. Camper enrolled as an undergraduate at Montana State University in 1971 and has never left. She earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in microbiology and a Ph.D. in civil/environmental engineering. She then joined the faculty as an assistant professor of civil engineering. Now a professor of civil engineering, Dr. Camper has also served as associate dean and interim vice president.

Professor Camper’s research focuses on biofilm growth and safety in drinking and industrial water systems. She has published 77 peer-reviewed articles and has authored 13 book chapters.
