In Memoriam: Leona Cuttler, 1951-2013

DrCuttlerLeona Cuttler, professor and chair of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, died on November 12 after battling brain cancer. She was 62 years old.

A native of Montreal, Dr. Cuttler earned bachelor’s and medical degrees at McGill University. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the University of California, San Francisco. Before joining the faculty at Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Cuttler taught at the University of Chicago.

At Case Western Reserve, she was the inaugural holder of the William Dahms Chair in Pediatric Endocrinology/Diabetes Excellence. She was also the founding director of the Center for Child Health and Policy.
