University of Arkansas-Little Rock Historian Wins Book Award

51ci2GxSF1L._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_Susanah Shaw Romney, a professor of history at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, received the 2013 Hendricks Award at the New Netherland Seminar in New York City. The award is given to the best book or manuscript exploring the Dutch influence on North America prior to the American Revolution. Professor Romney’s book, New Netherland Connected: Intimate Networks and Atlantic Ties in Seventeenth-Century America, will be published in April by the University of North Carolina Press.

Dr. Romney is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz and holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University.
