Three Women Promoted to Full Professor at Bucknell University

bucknellBucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, has announced the promotion of 10 scholars to the rank of full professor. Three of the promotions went to women.

LynnBreyfogleLynn Breyfogle was promoted to professor of mathematics. She also serves as the associate dean for arts and sciences at the university. A former high school mathematics teacher, she earned a doctorate in mathematics education at Western Michigan University. She then taught in the mathematics department at Bucknell for 11 years before being named associate dean in 2012.

CandiceStefanouCandice Stefanou is a new full professor of education. She joined the faculty at the university in 1998. Dr. Stefanou is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University. She holds master’s degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and Bucknell University. Professor Stefanou earned her doctorate in educational psychology at Penn State.

MargotVigeantMargot A.S. Vigeant was appointed professor of chemical engineering. Professor Vigeant joined the Bucknell University faculty in 1999. She is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. In 2009 she was the winner of the Ray W. Fahien Award for Teaching Excellence and Contribution to Chemical Engineering Education from the American Society for Engineering Education.
