Mary Pearl Is One of Five Candidates for President of SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry

The State University College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse has announced five finalists for president of the educational institution. One of the five finalists is a woman.

mpearl2Mary Pearl is associate dean and chief academic officer for the Macaulay Honors College of the City University of New York. She is also a professor of biology at Brooklyn College. Before assuming her present position, Dr. Pearl was first dean and administrative vice president of the Southampton campus of Stony Brook University. Earlier in her career, she served for 15 years as president of the Wildlife Trust, a global organization dedicated to innovative conservation science.

Dr. Pearl holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a Ph.D. in primate behavioral ecology, all from Yale University.
