Honors for Four Women Faculty Members

UrmekaJeffersonUrmeka Jefferson, an assistant professor at the Sinclair School of Nursing of the University of Missouri, received the Research Abstract Award from the National Association of Neonatal Nurses at the organization’s annual meeting in Nashville. Her research focuses on breastfeeding knowledge and intentions of African American college students.

Dr. Jefferson is a graduate of the University of Memphis. She holds a master’s degree from Union University in Germantown, Tennessee, and a Ph.D. from Saint Louis University.

Jamie jamie-stangS. Stang, an associate professor of epidemiology and community health at the School of Public Health of the University of Minnesota, received a 2013 Medallion Award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Dr. Stang is a graduate of the University of North Dakota. She holds a master of public health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Ph.D. in nutrition from the University of Minnesota.

Kathryn Eason

Kathryn Eason

Kathryn Eason, an assistant professor of fashion design and merchandising and Angela Dial, an instructor in the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Design at West Virginia University, were the recipients of the 2013 Award for Innovation in Textile Instruction from the International Textile and Apparel Association. The pair was honored for their development of a project that had students in an introductory course select digital prints for use by design students in an advanced course.

Angela Dial

Dr. Eason is a graduate of East Carolina University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in apparel and retail studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Angela Dial is a graduate of West Virginia University and holds a master’s degree in fashion design from Domus Academy in Milan, Italy.
