Three Women Join the Arts and Sciences Faculty at Lee University

lee-universityThe College of Arts and Sciences at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, has announced the appointment of three women to its faculty.

carlsonKatherine Carlson was named an assistant professor of English in the department of language and literature. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Carlson is a graduate of Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

melody-howardMelody Howard-Clark was named a visiting lecturer in English. She had been an adjunct instructor at Lee University for the past year and previously taught at Anderson University.

Howard Clark holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Indiana University and a second master’s degree from Butler University in Indianapolis.

ana-fb2Ana Alves was appointed assistant professor of political science in the department of history, political science, and humanities. She was a lecturer and teaching assistant at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Alves earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Brazilian universities and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.
